Safeguarding is about ensuring that everyone is safe from harm – safe from bullying, safe from people who could abuse, safe from discrimination or harassment – and that we all feel safe in our environment. Please see the Policies section of our website to view the safeguarding policy which goes into further detail.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare. Our Academy has a legal duty to refer cases causing concern to the relevant authorities.
If you are ever concerned about the safety or wellâ€being of someone at our school, please talk to one of the school’s Designated Safeguarding Officers.
The best way to help your child to be safe when using the internet is to talk to them and make sure they understand a few simple rules which can be found in our Parent Online Safety Sheet for Parents and Carers.

As part of Beddington Park Academy’s commitment to safeguarding and child protection we fully support the government’s Prevent Strategy. As part of our annual safeguarding trainings, we ensure that members of our team are aware of governmental priorities.
The Prevent strategy is a government strategy designed to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. As described in official documents published by Her Majesty’s Government, the Prevent Strategy:
