We had an incredible and educational 'Roman Day' at our school that took us on a journey back in time to ancient Rome!
Year Three dressed up as Romans, bringing the historical era to life! The day was filled with exciting activities, starting with delving into Roman numerals in a fun and interactive math session. This provided an opportunity for our students to not only learn the Roman numeral system but also understand its practical applications in ancient Rome. The highlight of the day was a live Zoom workshop from the London Mithraeum, where our students had the unique opportunity to access replicas of Roman artefacts. During the workshop, we engaged in fascinating discussions and explorations of these ancient treasures, deepening our understanding of Roman history and culture. Afterward, we made honey biscuits, where our young bakers learned the importance of honey in Roman cuisine. Then, we crafted mosaic pots, discovering the artistry and craftsmanship of ancient Roman artisans. Overall, Roman Day was an enriching and enjoyable experience for all, igniting our students' curiosity and fostering a deeper appreciation for the legacy of the ancient Romans!
